Saranac's Evan Patrie (6) and Rice Memorial's Chais Lyford (23) have a meeting of minds as they go after the loose puck during the hard-hitting contest. For their third straight game, the Saranac Spartans would travel out of state and take on the Rice Memorial Knights from Burlington, Vermont at the Cairns Arena and would look to continue their good weekend. It would take most of the opening period but the home Knights would get the first goal of the game with 1:54 left in the period on Preston Wheeler's goal to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. The Spartans would keep coming though and tie the game up about halfway through the second period on the Adrian Barnes go from the offensive faceoff circle to beat the goal. However, just about four minutes later the Knights would answer back and retake the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the Oliver Quong powerplay goal. The game would stay there till there were just under six minutes left in the game when the Spartans would tie the game up again on the Ryan Campbell goal. From there both teams would give their chances for the game-winner in the last minutes of the period and the five-minute overtime so the team would end the game tied at 2. So the Spartan's record will go to 2-2-1 on the season as they head into the Christmas break and their first league game against the Beekmantown Eagles on December 30th at A.C. North Arena. Gallery
The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Placid Red Storm in the Section X Crossover game. This would be the third meeting between these teams and frimilarly would show as the Hornets would have a slim 3-1 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would find there footing and take a 6-1 lead into the intermission. In the second half the Red Storm would do there best to make a game of it losing the half 5-4 although the Hornets were just to much to early winning the game 11-5. In the winning effort Michael Graves would let the way with the hat trick as the Hornets season comes to an end at 4-13. Gallery

It would be the last game of the regular season and the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Salmon River Shamrocks in Section X Boy's Lacrosse action. The game would start good for the Hornets as they would get opening goal of the game although they would be down 3-1 after the first quarter. In the second quarter they tried there best to stay with the Shamrocks losing the quarter 5-2 and trail 8-3 at the halftime. In the second half the Shamrocks would be off to the races and the Hornets wouldn't have much of answer and would lose the half 10-3 and the game 18-6. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the St. Lawrence Larries in Section X Boys Lacrosse action. It would not be a good night for the first year Hornets that would trail 3-0 after the first quarter. In the second quarter they would give up another 3 and trail 6-0 at the half. In the second half it would be more of the same as they would be outscored 8-1 and lose by a score of 14-1. The teams would traded goals in the first quarter and be tied at 2. In the second quarter the Horners would win the quarter 2-1 and have a 5-3 lead at the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Hornets defense would clap down and not allow a goal and the Hornets would get four goals for the 9-3 victory. The Plattsburgh Cardinals would meet up with the Middlebury Panthers in a non conference tilt at the field house. The game would start of go for the Cardinals as it would tied at three after the first quarter with goals from Justin Wise, Kevin Litchauer and Jake Carroll. Although the remainder of the game would be all Panthers as the Cardinals would get outscored 18-2 with the two goals from Zach Gill and Connor Wolff. Matt Shepherd (9s) and Billy Dunn (49) battle for the lead off the restart side by side through turn 1. It would be the opener of the Super Dirtcar Series and they would return to the Can-Am Speedway for the first time in ten years. It would be the Thunder in the Thousand Island with 41 cars showing up for the Super Dirt Week Qualifier. Everyone's emotions were up for the season opener and it would be evident in the feature race as 31 cars would start and only 16 would finish do to multipile wrecks throughout the race cuasing major damage to many cars ending there night early. Although when the dust settled Matt Shepherd would be the winner of the 10 thousand dollars and the all important automatic qualifying spot for Dirtweek in October. Shepherd's major challenge on the day would come from Billy Dunn and Mat Williamson but they were only able to hang with him for a few laps off the restarts and then Sheppard would slowly just pull away. In the second quarter they would be outscored 2-1 with the goal from Joshua Laravia and be down 5-1 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the game would only get worse as they would be outscored 8-0 and fall 13-1 to the Canton Golden Bears. In the lose the Hornets fall to 0-3 on the season and there next game is on the road against the Potsdam Sandstoners.
The Plattsburgh Hornets would have there third game of the week as they would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in section x action. It would be a rough start for the Hornets as they would be down 5-0 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would do there best to make it a game but would lose the quarter 6-4 and trail 11-4 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Hornets still had no answer for the Blue Devils as they would be outscored 9-1 in the half and lose the game 20-5. In the losing effort the Hornets would fall to 1-2. As they head into there game on April 10th against Canton.

The game would be tight for the first quarter with the teams trading goals and be tied at 1-1 scoring for the Hornets was Corbin Murray. In the second quarter the Hornets would start to pull away as they would score three times coming from Ethan Vaughn, Michael Graves and Hunter Laravia. In the second half it would be a very low scoring with the only goal coming from Plattsburgh's Michael Graves to secure the 5-1 win. In the winning effort Michael Graves scored twice as the Plattsburgh Hornets would win and get there first win in program history and go to 1-1 on the season. The Hornets return to action Thursday evening with a game against the Canton Golden Bears as they return to league action.
In there first ever game as a member of Section X the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Massena Red Raiders. It would be a very low scoring game. The Red Raiders would strike in the second quarter with 2 goals and take the 2-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half there would be no change as the Red Raiders would get one more to take the 3-0 lead in the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Red Raiders qould get another and take a 4-0 lead. Then in the final couple minutes of the game it would happen the Hornets would get there first goal as a section x member from Ethan Vaughan to make it a 4-1 goal. Although the Hornets would as they would add one more with 17 seconds left in the game from Corbyn Birch. Although it would not be enough as the Plattsburgh Hornets would fall 4-2 and start there season at 0-1. Although there will be little rest for the Hornets as they are right back it tomorrow with a game against the Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets.
The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up there first season in the SINYAC conference with a game against #15 Cortland State Red Dragons in front of 150 fans. It would be a rough one for the Cardinals as they would give up fourteen unanswered goals in the first half and trail 14-0 at the intermission. In the second half the Cardinals would get the first goal of the half from Emily Caoili. Although the joy would be short lived as the Red Dragons would get seven more unanswered and secure the Cardinals defeat at 21-1. In the losing effort Alexa Cassidy and Kaitlyn Boyea-Gynup would combine for ten saves as the Cardinals go to 1-6 on the season.
The 2019 ECAC Hockey Championships Finals would come down to #2 Cornell Big Red and the #3 Clarkson Golden Knights and also would be a pair of top ten teams in the country vying for the conference automatic bid into the NCAA Championship at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid in front of 5700 fans. The Big Red would get the important first goal of the game from Noah Bauld at the 7:29 mark of the first period. Although in a matter four minutes between period the twelve and sixteen minute mark of the first period Devin Brosseau would get two powerplay goals and give the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead after the first period. The game would remain there for the longest time as both teams were very evenly matched. Although with just under six minutes left in the game the Big Red tie the game up on the Tristan Mullin goal and would be enough to send the game to overtime. In that overtime period it was starting to look like we might be heading for a second overtime until Chris Klack would knock in the rebound and give the Clarkson Golden Knights 2019 ECAC Championship for the first time sense 2007. In the winning effort Jake Keilly would make 29 saves as the Clarkson Golden Knights head to the NCAA Tournament.
The #3 Clarkson Golden Knights would meet up with the #4 Harvard Crimson in the semi-finals of the ECAC Championships demi-finals at the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4800 people, The Golden Knights would open up the scoring just 2:30 into the game on the Haralds Eagle goal. Then just over three minutes later the Knights would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Anthony Callin goal. The game would stay there till the thirteen minute mark when the Golden Knights would score again this time from Nicco Strum for the 3-0 lead. The Crimson would answer right back a minute later on the Adam Fox goal to make it 3-1. Then just over a minute into the third period Harvard's Jack Rathbone would score to make it a 3-2. Although the Golden Knights were having nothing of it as they scored twice from Jack Jacome and Jordan Schneider to secure the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort Jake Keily would make 26 saves as the Golden Knights advance to the finals of the ECAC Championship against the #2 Cornell Big Red.
The #2 Cornell Big Red would meet up with the #8 Brown Bears in the semi-final of the ECAC Championships at the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4800 fans. The Big Red would open the first period with three goals setting the tone early with three goals in the period including two goals on one major powerplay with goals coming from Matthew Nuttle, Noah Bauld and Tristian Mullin. In the second period the Big Red would extend there lead to 4-0 on a goal from Morgan Barron on the powerplay at the thirteen minute mark. In the third period the Big Red would score two more from Joe Leahy and Kyle Betts to secure the 6-0. In the winning effort Matthew Galajda would make 30 saves in a shutout effort as they would advance to the ECAC Championships finals and face the winner of Clarkson and Harvard.
The Adirondack would finish off a three game weekend home stand with the Reading Royals as they make a late season push for the top spot in the north division in front of 2900 fans. The lone goal of the first period would come from the Royals Kevin Goumas at 6:37 of the period for the 1-0 lead. As for the second period the Thunder would tie the game up at the seven minute mark on the Kelly Summers goals right off the face off. Then the Thunder would pull ahead 2-1 at the 11 minute mark on Hans. Gorowsky goal his first goal as a profesional. Although the Royals would answer back with 2 power plays goals in the final 90 seconds of the period from Josh McDonald and Chris McCarthy to give the Royals the 3-2 lead as we entered the final period. In the final period it would take the Thunder til four minutes left in the game before they would score and tie the game up on Hans Gorowsky second career goal and second of the night. The Thunder would take the 4-3 lead 38 seconds later on the Dylan Walchuck goal and the Thunder would get two empty net goals to secure the 6-4 victory and get the rare 6 point weekend. In the winning effort Hans Gorowsky would score twice with his first two pro goals and Cam Johnson would make 29 saves on the night in an emergency start.
The Adirondack Thunder would host the Newfoundland Growlers on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Night. The battle would be on between the Thunder and Growlers as they fight for first in the division. The Growlers would get the opening goal of the game 1:55 in from Zach O'Brien for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 6:36 mark of the second period when Brian Ward would score to tie the game at one. The Thunder would take the 2-1 lead on the Kelly Summers goal at the thirteen minute mark. Then in the 16th minute mark the Thunder would extend there lead to 3-1 on Connor Reilly first goal of the night. In the third period the game would turn into a shootout as both teams would score three times. Although scoring for the Thunder would be Brian Ward and Connor Reilly (twice) to complete the hat trick on the night and give the Thunder a 6-4 victory. In the winning effort Connor Reilly would lead the way with three goals as the Thunder get with in nine points of the division lead headed down the stretch.
The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrates as they return to the national final four for the eight year in a row. The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Williams Ephs in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Championshup. The Ephs would take the quick 1-0 lead nineteen seconds into the game. The game would remain there til the 3:08 mark of the second period when Cardinals Madison Walker would tie the game at one. Then just over a minute later the Cardinals would take a 2-1 lead on Holly Schmelzer goal. The Ephs would tie the game at two with a powerplay goal with four minutes left in the second period. The Cardinals would regain the lead at 3-2 just a minute later on the Mackenzie Millen goal. The game would stay there til the eight minute mark of the third period when the Ephs would score and tie the game at three. Then the Cardinals would come back and take the lead back again at 4-3 on Nicole Unsworth goak at the twelve minute mark. The Cardinals would take a 2 goal lead at 5-3 45 seconds later on Mackenzie Millen second goal of the night to secure the 5-3 victory. In the winning effort the Plattsburgh State Cardinals return to the final four for the eighth year in a row and will face Adrian which they have split with on the season.
The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Endicott Gulls in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game would start of good for the Gulls as they would score 4:37 into the first period for the 1-0 lead. The Gulls would strike again just under five minutes left to have the surprising 2-0 lead. Although the Cardinals would come out of the locker room fired up and Courtney Moriarty would score four minutes into the period to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. The game would remain there until there was 8:19 left in the game when Annie Katonka would score on a scramble play in front of the net for a 2-2. The Cardinals would fight for the remainder of the period with no success. The game would head to overtime although we would not be there very long as the Annie Katonka would send the home fans home happy 45 seconds in for the 3-2 win. In the winning effort Kssi Abbott would make 8 saves as the Cardinals advance to the Quarterfinals Saturday against #9 Williams.
Plattsburgh State's Ian Howard (0) crashes the boards and gets the rebound and puts it back for two of his seven points. It would be the opening night of the NCAA Tournament and the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Nicholls Bisons in a match up of top 25 teams in the country. It would be a very tightly called game with a lot of offensive fire power. The Cardinals would take a 51-46 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half the Cardinals would start to pull away and win the half 52-40 and secure the 103-86 victory. In the winning effort Jonathan Patron would lead the way with 21 points as the Cardinals advance to the second round against Union College.
